The Canadian Gaming Association (CGA) has had a dynamic fall season, representing Canada’s gaming industry at major international events and contributing to key discussions on regulation, innovation, and responsible growth.

At G2E 2025 in Las Vegas, the CGA hosted its annual CGA @ G2E Networking Reception on October 7 at the elegant Jardin Restaurant at Encore, Wynn Las Vegas. The event brought together more than 350 industry leaders, operators, suppliers, and stakeholders from across North America for an evening of connection and collaboration.

A sincere thank-you to our event sponsors — Wyzia, Play’n GO, Aristocrat Gaming, Bede Gaming, and JCM Global — for their continued support of the CGA and the Canadian gaming industry.

CGA President & CEO Paul Burns also took part in the G2E education program, joining Dr. Karin Schnarr, Sara McCarthy, and Joseph Hillier for the session “Proven. Practical. Ontario’s Model in Action.” The panel explored how Ontario’s iGaming framework has become a proven model for a safe, well-regulated marketplace and an example for jurisdictions worldwide.

Beyond G2E, Paul represented the CGA at several other major industry events this fall:

  • Toronto Compliance & AML Conference (September 11) – Participating in the panel Online Gaming & Casinos’ AML Challenges, Risks & Trends, which examined evolving AML regulations, emerging fraud schemes, and compliance strategies shaping the future of gaming.
  • SBC Summit Lisbon (September 18) – Speaking on the North American Leaders Panel: Sweeping the States – The Rise of Alternative Betting, which explored new growth areas such as sweepstakes and prediction markets as U.S. expansion slows.

The CGA also released a new episode of the Get to Know Canadian Gaming Podcast, featuring Paul Burns, Senior Vice President, Policy & Communications, Amanda Brewer, and CGA Board Member Derek Ramm, Global Head of Advisory Services at Kinectify. The discussion focused on strengthening Canada’s anti-money laundering systems for online gaming and sports wagering.

Additionally, Paul appeared on the Gaming News Canada Show presented by Bede Gaming, where he reflected on his participation in the Brain Economy Summit’s Better Gambling Forum in New York and the SBC Summit Lisbon, offering insights on emerging global trends and responsible innovation.

From hosting industry networking events to participating in global forums, the CGA continues to advance advocacy priorities, foster collaboration, and showcase Canada’s leadership on the world stage.
